Pattern Corrections

We work very hard to make sure our patterns go out easy to understand and error free. They are thoroughly tested before publication. HOWEVER, we are human. As hard as we try...we do make a tiny, few mistakes.  As soon as we are aware of the mistake, all future books and patterns will be sent out corrected. You may have a corrected copy. But some do get out before we catch the mistake. With that said, here are the few corrections we need to make note of:

In the book, Pieced Treasure- Page 7 Block 9 The first row should look like this

 The strip was accidentally reversed.

In the book Layer Cake and Panel-
Fabric 3 (1st border) may be considered a directional fabric (although we did not feel the direction of this particular print was important to the look of the quilt). However, if you would like your border running with the semi solid lines up and down- you will need to cut the first 2 cuts (for left and right borders) parallel to the selvedge. The top and bottom borders will be cut selvedge to selvedge. If you look very closely at the picture on our pattern, that is the way we have it shown. But like stated above, we feel it is not important that it needs to run in that direction as there are vertical and horizontal lines running in the print.

In the book, Spring Sampler- When converting to print copy- the below was cut off of page 2- in The Cutting Table Directions for Fabric #4. Please add these cuts.
(3) 3’’ squares, (3) 2’’ squares.
For the Small Hive Opening: on Page 2 make the following corrections: Cutting Table Fabric #4 should say (3) 2" squares (instead of 1" squares), Fabric #6 should say (3) 1" x   1 1/2" strips (instead of 1" x 1/2" strips, and (3) 2" squares (instead of 1" squares).
Corrected directions for the Small Hive Opening:

Place (1) Fabric 4 (2” square) with (1) Fabric 6 (2” square) right sides together. Draw a diagonal line through center of one of the squares. Sew 1/4” from the line on each side of the line. Cut on the line and press each half square triangle unit open and square each up to 1”. Very important to square each to 1”. Repeat to make a total of (6) Fabrics 4 and 6– 1” HST Units.
Sew (1) Fabrics 4/6– 1" HST unit to (1) Fabric 6– 1’’ x 1 1/2’’ strip to (1) Fabrics 4/6– 1’’ HST Unit as shown in diagram. Next, add (1) Fabric 6– 2’’ x 2 1/2’’ strip to the bottom of the strip. Repeat steps exactly to make a total of (3) of these units. This will be used in Row 6 of Block for Hive opening.

Page 5-Cutting Table Fabrics 5,8 and 9 should be cut at 3 1/2" instead of 4" and then trimmed to 3" HST.

In the book, Presto Panels Due to a printing size change the (4) panel squares should be cut at 15" rather than 15 1/2". Fabric #3 should be cut 2 1/4" x 18 1/2" (instead of 2" x 18 1/2") and 2 1/4" x 15" (instead of 2" x 15 1/2" .) Then trim the blocks to 18 1/2" as instructed.
In the book, Botanicals
A sentence was left off. Page 3- bottom: Add the Third Border: From 44304 12, cut (2) strips 5 1/2” by width of fabric. Trim this strip to 5 1/2” by 70 1/2”.

In the pattern, So Soft-Disregard "Sub cut those (9) 8 1/2" strips into (36) 8 1/2" squares on page 1.

In the book, Flowers on the Fence-To better achieve the illusion of the curved corners of the center we suggest a pattern change:
Bottom of page 1- Cut for 6 Block B's- REMOVE: Fabric 1 cut (36) 1 1/4" squares, (6) 1 3/4" squares REMOVE- Fabric 3 cut (6) 1 3/4" squares, REMOVE- Fabric 4 cut (12) 1 3/4" squares.  ADD- From Fabric 1 cut (3) 3 1/4" squares. Delete the directions for making the center section for the floral blocks on the bottom section of page 2 (Rows 1 and 2). Just begin with "Square this block to 3 1/4" and use the Fabric 1- 3 1/4" square.

In the book, Flags Waving
